Ive been thinking for while now and thrt id ask on here, my mate had his fiat Uno put into a bath of zinc? i think it was so hes shell was galvanized, he said it wont ever rust? well not for while ne way lol

has anyone ever done this

is it worth it?

I don't think that is the same as galvanising. I believe galvanising involves very cold temperatures, which twists and destorts a bodyshell, which is why its not done with bodyshells made from thin metal such as the mini.

I just had my spare front subby Galvanised....
cost me about £20... but thats Mates Rates... they just threw it in with a batch of other machine parts they were doing....

Still awaiting for it to arrive back, but I wouldn't recommmend doing to it a bodyshell!

Several reasons really....
The shell WILL distort! so fitting subys etc will become even more of a PITA!

It'll be expensive! VERY expensive

Its alot of work getting the Mini ready for a Galv...

Took me weeks to fully de-grease and shot blast my front subby!!

i could get it cheap as my mates mate hadit done for him but i gota look abit more into it
