Hi all
Need to find the voltage regulator on my 94 1275 Sprite. Any ideas where i'll find it.

Guess-Works is referring to the gauge system voltage stabilizer. Is that what you mean or are you referring to the voltage regulator that is part of the alternator/charging-system?

My mate is a Mini enthusiast who is currently building an R1 convertion. I told him that basically the temp guage reads just above the blue when the engine is hot but more annoyingly the fuel guage goes up and down like a yoyo (when its working). He told me it was probably the voltage regulator. Infact another two people have suggested the same thing. Any ideas!!

Hi all. I've tried the above, cleaned all the contacts on the plug that goes into the speedo unit, cleaned the contacts on the sender unit. Still no joy. Voltge seems to be getting to the sender unit and the voltage stablizer is reading a steady 10v. Any ideas please.

When you measured a steady 10V out of the stabilizer was the engine running or stopped?

On lots of Mini models, a malfunctioning wiper motor park-switch can upset the gauges when it fails and short circuits.

I've seen it happen on a few Minis, my own included as it runs on the same circuit.

Taffy, what are the gauge symptoms when the wiper motor switch is the component at fault?
