Hi everyone

Glad to announce that I have finally got my new website up and running, as some of you will be aware I started off doing automotive artwork with the help of a good few friends from the club.

www.thecreativeartcompany.co.uk

As I dont really have anyone at this end to bounce my ideas of I would really appreciate some feedback from you guys on the look, feel and content of my site.

There is nothing in the shop yet for sale, thats the next challenge!! but as always if anyone has anything in mind please contact me through the site and it will also help me to see if its working OK.

Thanks for your help
J

thanks for your comments direct to the website, very kind of you all.

Couls I also ask what sort of artwork would appeal to owners>? Im working on a set of prints based on the Italian job and Union Jack imagery, can anyone recommend any other worthwhile themes or subjects that would be of interest to club members?

Just a word of warning from my experience -

I'm a graphic designer and illustrator as well and did up some shirts to sell on my site that contained the original Mini likeness (car outline) - but no other reference to Austin, Morris, BMC or even BMW. The site that houses my t-shirt designs recently sent me a rather stern letter saying that they had to take down my designs "due to a violation of intellectual property rights." It was an illustration I had done from scratch. I could PROVE it was my own t-shirt design. However, BMW AG had done a sweep of the site and demanded that anything with the Mini or BMW likeness be removed.

Seems BMW is getting rather heavy handed with the Mini likeness use.

So - just a heads up: If you do any work that contains his stuff and intend to make any money from it... you may need to get creative on how you use the Mini likeness.

Big Brother BMW seems to be watching us little guys. :)) *melons*.

thanks mate but they dont have any 'image rights' on my original work, my photography and artwork is 100% original and 100% my intellectual property.

Besides the cheeky Germans didnt even own the company when it was 'classic'

take care
J
