Hello all

I know this is a long way off...but my partner and I are going camping for a week in Cornwall, Wadebridge to be precise. It's the first time either of us have been to Cornwall, are there any places you would recommend to visit?

We've already decided we want to visit Tinagel and he would like to go to the Eden project. Any suggestions?

Were you planning on staying up around the North Coast or do you mind a bit of travelling? Ive just moved from Penzance, some brilliant places right down south. The coastal road from St Ives to Lands End then Penzance is superb, some excellent views and great driving.

What sort of stuff did you want to visit, the Telegraph Museum in Porthcurnow and Maritime Museum in Falmouth are both really good, a few of the old mines are open-ish for visitors too.

Philps in Hayle do a mean pasty too!

Well my partner has said he would like to visit a beach at some point during our stay, which is in July. Was thinking about having a look around St Ives.

Can you recommend a good beach? Mum says they are beautiful beaches along the south coast, picturesque.


Not sure how much travelling we'll end up doing, as he's paying for the pitch, and I'm doing the driving! But am open to some suggestions though, just in case we do

Lands End is a good place to go

I went to Falmouth to look at a uni in January and it was cold but

I would of seen you but im going down in the first 2 weeks in august

25th July - 30th July

I would do a round trip. Go up to Bodmin and then head for the north coast on maybe the 3072 via Holsworthy to Bude, then down the A39 diverting to Boscastle, which will take you to Tintagel.
Then if you've got time take the B-road, the 3314, which will let you divert on the way to Port Isaac, to Wadebridge.
Then go A39 again & take the 389 & 3276 to Padstow, and if you've got time find St Merryn, and then turn right down to Constantine, which is a fabulous beach (but even in winter parking is )
Then back on the 3276 coast road, as twisty windy uppy downy as any mini could wish for, with more huge views, to Newquay.
EDIT Before entering Newquay on this road you go past Trevelgue, home to the Riv Run.

BIG BLANK HERE because I don't know any more pretty coastal roads (usually belt down the A30 to Hayle).

Then either through or bypass St Ives on to the 3306 Zennor, Pendeen, St Just etc with more breathtaking views (er, if it's not foggy) to Land's End.

And come back along the south, through Penzance etc.

That's enough from me, and lots of tmfers actually live there and I'm just a longtime grockle. But I lived there for a bit and I love it.

a trip to cornwall wouldnt be complete without a visit to newquay. watergate bay is a great beach, or fistral if you want to watch the surfers in action.

best pub down here is the Mermaid inn right on Porth beach

Mevagissey and Charlestown are nice lil villages to visit. You can get lovely fish and chips down meva and walk around the harbour.

Theres luxulyan valley and cardinham woods for long walks in the forests....

Theres loads of coastal roads over near newquay which are awesome in the summer evenings.

Morgan porth is a good beach.

Scrap that, ALL the beaches in cornwall are good, some more busy than others though.
