hey hey. got my baseplates back from laser cutting this week and a kind man at work is drawing the plate thats bolts to the head up for me and that will be sent to lasercutters got my first bit of pipeing aswell so shud start the inlet manifold very soon fingers crossed anyways.. just gonna to a tad more up the unit today will put sum pics up for you soon.

heres the plates and the first set of mandrell bent pipes ive got for the first manifold ill be using the rest ill wack on ebay to sell to people who dont want to pay £275 for one.

hey again. took the waterpump drive off my supercharger yesterday.. my only question is tho.. the little striahgt cut gear that you can see in the pic that is left in afterwards... is the anychance of it comin off or movin while the charger is still spinnin as the other gear it drives is no longer in there..? also what gear oil should i use when i put it back together? the other pic is of the baseplates i had cut.

long time no post. ill be taking pictures of the unit tomoz so they will be up soon and some more of the progress on the mini.. but at the minute im very proud of my self..lol ive made a dizzy blanket plug for the dizzy and its only my second go on a lathe haha its mint all radius'ed and looks and fits well good. dead proud hahaha. plus if anyone needs ones i can make them one for £6 as i have ali left to do about 7 more so let me know .lol

The gear is pretty well on the shaft it is put on under heat. I pulled one off and it takes quite a bit. So should be ok not that you really would want to leave the end open i would put a cover on it just to stop it getting grit in there.

wicked thanks for the reply, the original cover is goin bk on as i took it off to cut then legs off it so it will go bk on and ill still fill it with oil just to be on the safe side. im usin a 3:1 c/w and pinion on a crosspin diff from mini sport.

the oil only serves the gears behind that gear there is an oil seal seperating that side from the charger. The bearings in that end of the case (but charger vein side) have like a graphite grease in.

kool thats good to know then just didnt want the other gear flying off at X amount of rpms.lol im just waiting to get paid now so i can order the last piece for the supercharger inlet then i can make the whole thing. as for the mini.. ive welded the scuttle on and robs done the driversside inner wing to match the passengerside i did. looks ace.. cnt wait to get on with the painting!

Finally got round to takin a few pics of the mini and unit. bin meaning to do this for ages but bin rushing about tryin to get as much done on the mini as pos as brighton is fast approching. So a few pics for ya.
Since last time we've replaced the d/s inner wing
scuttle
rear d/s wheel arch
welded up holes in bulkhead that are not needed
new engine steady bracket
cut out both rear doorbins
trimmed the seat back

what sort of power will you get from a supercharger?

i've bin told by a few mini engine builders that i can expect about 170-180 with my spec of eninge but i will be very happy to get just 140-150 that will be scary enuff. ive yet to be in a 100bhp mini yet and im told that is mad.lol

erm.. depends where u get them from. i got my charger from ebay second hand for £200 but its a brand spanker really. than your looking at about £275 for ya manifold £ 100 for ya crank pulley and about another £250 for ya inlet pipe.. but im makin my own so its cheaper.lol

some top work here lads, gotta say when i saw ur mini in miniworld i fell in love with it! looks absoultly gorgeous! well done. good work with the build too >_< and good luck! :w00t:
