just fitted my boot after car came back from paint....

fitted the rubber seal with the clips and stuff, bit of a painbut managed in the end....

Boot wouldnt close enoughto lock it shut...

soooo.... took the rubber off and it shut no probs...

do i need to space the boot lock with washers to allow the boot to be held shut with the rubber in?

is thereany other way of securing the rubber to the boot as the clips dont seem like theregoing to hold the rubber on for too long!?

Thanks guys.... :)

Don’t think it’s the same thing, but have you had the petrol tank out?

When I put my tank back in I made the common mistake of putting the bolt through the whole, meaning the tank was in the wrong position and the lip was hitting the boot at the bottom, so the boot would not close correctly.

Mines always been a tight fit, it doesn't leak either! If I put the handbrake on weakly then I could push the car along without actually closing the boot. It's better now that it's worked in, I say just get used to it.

To adjust the latching of the boot lock you put spacer washers behind the lock mechanism..
