1985 Mini Mayfair 998cc, Manual

Hi all,

I need some help, yesturday, I removed the gearbox and Diff from my mini to inspect it and replace the various seals\gaskets\boots. When I finally manged to free it and get the gearbox and diff out, there was a spring lying on the floor. Where did it come from and where does it go? It's about 1 1/4".

It's been buggung the hell out of me and I don't want to put everything back together until I know where the spring goes, I will take a photo of it needed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yep, I have removed the sides, I will check the gear change detent, if there is no spring then hopefully that's where its come from... Cheers, will let you know.
