Just put a 1275 engine in my mini. Polished and ported head with a fast road cam.

When stationary and i touch the accelerator slighlty then release the car continues to rev on for 3-5seconds. It also does it when changing gear sometimes.

check the throttle cable or linkage at the carb isn't sticking.
