im thinking of striping my mini and respraying white and removing vinal roof and spraying roof black. But id like to get black bumpers and grill to match. and basicly get everything that was crome black like light rings and black metal mirors etc. but i found that it will be hard to get the crome ones painted, so i looked into it and the older minis came with black bummpers as standerd. I was wondering if any one who has them could tell me if the finish is good and would the fit without much hastel to my 1988 cityE.

also this is my car.... do u think my idea will look good basicly do up get rid of rust (obv there is littel of but dont want much in near future if at all best to treat befor it gets big). paint white not sure on spasific yet,erm and get black bumpers and arches and roof black and black handels and mirror's and im planing on keeping esisting weller wheels if i go ahead with this stylie and clean them up and powdercoated black to match.

i think that would look good in my opinion, im going for all black i think when i eventually get around to the respray just not so good in this sort of weather :S

o and the bumpers should fit no problem but i think those black bumpers have a matt finish to them not sure though, u can spray chrome just a bit of a nightmare because the finish is so smooth but ive painted a chrome bumper before and turned out really well, had to use etching primer i think aswell.

(Im new)

Hi all i had a similar idea, i purchased grey bumpers and matching group 5 arches (i cant aford carbon fibre)
Am i correct in saying that chrome cant be blasted off as its a chemical prosess?
anyway i decided that if i wanted to change the bumper colour in future it would be ok because i now have steel ones.
