I am putting a 1293 stage 4 engine in my mini in a few weeks and need to get the most power out of it and dont want to lose any thing because of the exhaust so what will be best exhaust for a

1293 bore
286 scatter cam
stage 4 head
lightened and balanced flywheel

would it be a large bore lcb manifold??
and what material shall i look for as i have seen a few LCB in stainless does this have any more power gain? more durability?

any thing else i need to take into consideration???

thanks a lot guys
Dan

Stainless is more prone to cracking - and the lcb gets hot enough that effectively they 'never' rust - so normal steel will be fine. General opinion is that 1.75" bore is the one to use - I have my doubts and would personally use a 2" system. Maniflow have a great reputation - you won't go wrong with one of theirs!

I am running a LCB maniflow header with a 2" RC40 system, single box, its pretty good for gas flow, but I would think that a 1.75" exhaust system would be ok, I have found that with a 998 engine like I have, there is a slight flatspot lower down the rev range (as if the engine had a different cam changing the power band location).

I think with a 1275 or more a 2" system would be a good idea, as there is much more gas, especially with a scatter cam and a heavily ported head, also if you did upgrade further like I will be doing, the exhaust won't restrict performance.

Get a maniflow manifold (I have only heard good things about them) and a 2" system :proud: I think people seem to prefer a twin box system, but my single box system is still pretty good.

I think there were some dyno tests on the RC40 single vs twin box system, might be an idea to search around for it :proud:

Its about £80 on minisports:

http://www.minisport...info_LM004.html

And about another £125 for the rest of the system:

http://www.minisport...nfo_LS005A.html

That £75 would be just for the exhaust manifold ;D
