I have been out this weekend and i welded the flitch panel in and it was not to bad. but i am starting to line the a panel and wing up etc but, i have found more rust, i have hardly any money, and a respray is going to be £600. I dont know what to do, i feel like i want to sell it and get something better which wont need painting or much welding. Please point me in the right direction. would upload pictures but wont let me. >_<

Danny.

Oh god no, both wings need to be put on floor patches, boot patches, a bit near the suspension mounting (not much) 1 outer sill, 1 doorstep, closing panel. Just loosing faith now and want to push it off a cliff >_<

We've all been there, look at how bad mine was in this thread and it hadn't long had new inner and outer sills and steps on both sides done prior to this: -

Yes mine's almost gone around the clock and will be 20 years old in November. So I can't really complain too much.

It's part of owning a mini - you never know whats around the next corner (or panel!). Take it easy and you'll get there!!!

what ever you do dont give up on it, i got my mini and had a look at it and it was rotten, ive just cut the bootfloor both arches, rear valance, sill inner and outer and rear subframe mountings out of it lol and i havent even looked at the front yet lol. it doesnt matter if you havent got much money, just try and save as much as you can for your mini. when you have finished it you will be really proud of yourself. slowly but surely u will finish it. trust me mine is costing me a lot of money but i have a picture of what i want it to look like and i want to get it there.... SO JUST KEEP GOING!! DONT GIVE UP!

have a look at my Dolly the camper project and see what you can do your self

i'm not spending £600 on a respray, i just tackling the rust bit by bit and painting with a roller

And I must say when you look at Dolly you'd never guess that Bungle slapped her colour on with a roller. But if you take your time you can achieve it. It doesn't happen overnight and as the saying goes

"owning a mini can seriously damage your wealth!"
