Got a 1989 mini 1000 with megajolt and a 12G295 head fitted. Also it has mini spares stage one kit fitted but the exhaust quality is terrible after a year of use. Athe joins seem to be sloppy, I have removed the whole exhaust and refiited it to the car using plenty of exhaust sealant and the carrect clamps but the join half way along the car seem so sloppy I have had to load it with paste and it also is really close to the body at the front, near the gear linkage. Looking at RC40 or Play mini system, from the lcb back.

the minispares kits come with the rc40 don't they?

so id say go for a mainflow system

you say the stage 1 kit was from minispares, chances are if it was a whole kit then it would be an rc40 variant , however if bought in bits and from different places then it could well be a cheaper exhaust system

sorry it it a minisport kit not mini spares and that is the exhaust that they supply with the kit.

ahhh ok then yeh the exhaust isn't going to be as good.

so would either go for an rc40 exhaust system of a mainflow one
depends how much you'd want to spend and how loud you'd want it to be

max size for exhaust bore you'd want is around 1.75

dont want it to be loud in the car but sound nice outside.

rc40 twin box system is very good, pretty much the same design as that minisport one
nice and quiet until you floor it

yep, thats what mine is like although i think mine is the minisports one, still haven't bothered to check properly
but quiet until you floor it
