I'm wondering what is the limit for using a mechanical fuel pump? at what stage will it become in adicuate for the job?

the engine is a 1380, stg3 head, 270/276 cam with a HIF44 carb. will the std. pump be up to the job or should I just stick an electric fuel pump in somewhere? and if so what pump should I get?

Thanks, Geek

I was running a standard mechanical pump on my 1380, 286 cam, HIF44; nearly 100bhp and it was fine.
