after my fan belt split i obviously fitted a new one. however even though the fan belt is new, and there is a brand new battery on the car and fairly new alternator the battery doesnt seem to charge?!
when i start the car in the morning the petrol and temperature gauges dont work, after driving for a short while they both kick in and catch up. As this happens the battery light comes on!?

any ideas people?!

I'd check all your earth conections first.

The alternator shouldn't affect the fuel gauge !!

cheers for that. will have a check for earth connections,

i probably should have mentioned im having problems with the indicators (and hazards) not working!?
guessing the two might be connected?!

any help is welcome!!
