When i removed the head on my 1275 Metro engine the front centre stud was a real sod, tight is an understatement. Now I am porting it etc I went to clean that hole out but it is smaller, at 10mm where the others are nearer 11mm. Is this some kind of positive location method or should I open it up.While I am on,some suggestions for a needle to start with would be helpful to suit this spec:- Well ported out and valves deshrouded,35.6mm inlet valves,Maniflo LCB and 1 3/4 id twin box system,1.5 rockers, cleaned out iron oiginal inlet manifold obviously separated from exh,10:1 CR,HIF 44,std air filter and case. What may it produce? hp and torque.

Yes, it is for positive location - DO NOT OPEN IT UP. Clean out the gunk, but no more; its meant to be a tight fit. Re needle, perhaps someone else could give you a starting measure...

OK thanks Ryan, I thought that maybe the case.It needs to be positioned properly as the gasket is extremely close to the edge on some cylinders, not due to deshrouding-it was already like that.BDL or BDK came up on search facility
