My mini is positive earth and this is confusing the hell out of me. Im using the good old haynes manual to check my ignition system as im getting no spark.
It says that i need to use a 12 volt voltmeter and test between the the low tension wire (sw +) and earth. But the manual is for a negative earth car, so if i connect the wire from the sw to earth (which is positive) it wont work will it?
What do i need to do? the thought of positive earth is scaring me :)

Cheers

Well what have you done to give more info on whats wrong ..................with a pos+ earth you will have to use all pos+ earthed ancilleries (radio ect).......but you can swop it to neg- earth its a little tricky but can be done

The SW terminal will still be going to whatever is NOT earth - so will still read 12 volts against earth. Does it ?
