hi everyone got a slow leak at the side of the gearbox (output shaft i think) but my engine is coming out soon so would rather fix it then when its on a bench and more accessible, so is there a temp fix to stop the oil leaking on my drive, i was thinking about cleaning the oil off and applying some semi-setting gasket sealant along the edge how would this hold up, anybody have any other suggestions.

can't you just put a tray under it for now, I doubt anysort of bodge smearing sealant on the outside is going to stop a leak.

i always forget to place a tray or card piece underneath, so a one time temp fix would be ideal (might just try to remember instead)

FROST do an oilstik( bit like a crayon ) that you rub on the outside of gasket flanges it might work for a temp fix
