So as i tried to take my fuel cap top off today so i could reinstall my fuel tank to my car, the key snapped in the lock :). I managed to get the key out of the lock but the cap is still on, i have no spare and i guess it's too late to get a spare key cut

Any advice/suggestions would be greatful

I would like to be able to get my fuel tank back in as i need an MOT and it will be pretty hard to get one without a fuel tank :o

Thanks

if its just the nead thats snapped off and all the little lumps are still on one peice of the key, take it in and try, they might be still able to make you one

What you reckon? Think i'll be getting a new cap after this, maybe one without a key like modern cars

Something like this, http://www.minisport..._SPDASTCAP.html Although does that have a lock underneath?

Should be able to get a new key cut with that no worries. At least I have been able to in the past!

It sits on top of your existing petrol cap.

So do i need the locking part underneath that? Or can it go straight onto the fuel tank nossel?
