Anyone here up on bike values. Although I have no photos at the moment, the bike is a 1980's Honda TL 125 trials bike in immaculate condition and with only about 5-6000 miles on it.

I'd be grateful for all value advice.

Looking around it appears the TL125 is very similar to the XL125 which go for around £1500 in good order sometimes more, but often less too. I might be wrong but it does look like the TL is an imported bike though so may be a little less as they can be difficult to insure for your average 125cc rider. (Learner legal age)
Hope this helps

It is imported, from Japan hence part of the reason for the low mileage. The other reason is I took it for an MOT 7years ago and forgot about it when I moved to the US. Got back and was reminded I still had it....been at the dealers for over 6 years..lol.

It is absolutely mint condition.

Sounds like a good buy for somebody then but to make it worth more to a buyer, get a years MOT on it and, if you can stretch to it, then insure and tax it too, makes it far far easier to sell as it will be usable straight away.

I'm alway suspect of the "it should pass an MOT test with no problem" Usually means problems that are either difficult or expensive! So at worst MOT it before putting it up for sale if you want the best price.

i would be amazed if it went anywhere near 1000 in the current climate and the million chinese bikes floating about 125s are not worth alot especially as you could buy a xlr or kmx for a grand

It will have a full year's MOT and 6 months tax as I have to do this to register the bike. At present it still does not have british plates on it. It will be fully serviced too. I'll try and get pictures soon but the dealer still has it and will MOT it soon.

I would also ask him to UK plate for you first. I have bought a few Import cars in the past at bargain prices and the spec. Then had to Insure them.Found out why they were cheap a bit late.

Are you looking to ride this regularly, TL125s are good trials bikes but I'm not sure you'd want to be running around town on it much. I'd get some pictures of the bike and go ask on Trails Central, you should be able to get a pretty conclusive answer from them.
