seeing as the insurance is due on a couple of my cars i'm looking into "Multi Classic Car" policies.

HIC advertise it on their site - but dont offer it!!
Tradex dont do agreed valuations!
places like Admaril wont touch classic cars!!

does any one out there have a policy that covers more than one CLASSIC car, and if so who are you using??

I have got two minis registered with HIC although one is registered as a SORN project with a set value. Good Luck. Matt

Avoid Tradex like the plague...

I'm with Roadrunner (motor trade) and have a policy with Royal Sun Alliance.

They can cover anyhting you have (and I mean anything) and are very reasonable, price wise.

Huey & Rocky are insured comprehensively with Adrian Flux under their classic mini policy, and Mrs T & I are insured to drive either car. Plus we get something for being members of a mini club and I think membership of tmf also helps (must check that).

I did 2 separate quotes on Admiral - one for a Golf GT TDi and the other for a 1986 998 City.

In total, they came to £550.

I then thought that I might as well see if I could save any money on a multicar policy on Admiral...

Total?

£1700 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/saywhat.gif)

So I went with the single policy for the Golf and went elsewhere for the mini.

When I came to renew for the Golf ... I cancelled the policy and took out a NEW one with exactly the same company (Admiral) and EXACTLY the same details (Infact, it was literally a carbon copy on confused.com ...

Saved £150 on the renewal price!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/errr.gif)

The service is very bad. They suck new customers in with cheap premiums, but it's a false economy. They never updated the MID on time for me, which led to me being in cars that would flag up as uninsured. They never reply to e-mails and are thoroughly rude and unhelpful if you ever manage to get through to them on the phone.
To top it off, they let my policy run for 4 months until they decided the Porsche I had declared with them from day 1 was not covered and demanded £££'s extra for the time I'd had it on the road. This is understandable with high-risk vehicles but leaving it for ages and then threatening to cancel my policy with no refund is robbery.. basically a very good way of screwing more money out of you.

Avoid.

I'm going through Peter James Insurance this year.

Compare these Quotes;

HIC (Miniworld) £308

Footman James £247

Peter James Insurance £120 guaranteed value inc free breakdown cover

I'm with Tradex on their "Fleet car" policy and have never had a problem yet, I'd recommend them.
