my main concern is if it will work
In what sense? If you mean will it deter them from trying to steal your Mini then 99% of the time it will. Things like steering wheel locks, wheel clamps etc are all good deterents. The more security you have the less likely they are even gonna try to break in to it.

I have a cheap Hawk alarm in mine, it seems to do the job but it's not as gimmicky as the one you posted. I personally went for that one and not any of the other cheap ones for the simple reason that Hawk also provide Thatcham alarms therefore they will offer some sort of support for it whereas eBay sellers can disappear from eBay.

That's exactly what I mean. Only about 70% of my alarm is wired in.i think he means that it has more features than a standard mini has avaiable eg trunk release, power windows and dome light delay thiese features cannot be wired into a standard mini

Get one of those locks that goes round the handbrake and gear lever, you have to put a Mini in third when you put it on so it aint gona move!!
ahh thats sounds good then even if they release hand brake shouldnt roll, is there any particular make that fits mini best?

I've never had one myself but I have no doubt it will work (if you mean in an electrical sense). Most alarms now have more inputs than what a Mini can cater for. I would also advise you alarm for bonnet and boot, it's only a simple switch.
