Please be careful when answering peoples technical questions that you do not misguide them into taking inappropriate action.

Not only is this annoying, but it can also be costly and could even be dangerous if the wrong information is given.

This is why we ask that only first-hand and factual information is posted in reply to peoples queries.

Hi, I took my mini off the road about 6 months ago to renovate it plus do some modifications etc. One of my friends has said i can have his 1.6l out of a MK1 MR2 that he is selling. This is obviously down to if it will fit in my mini, I was just wondering if anybody could shed some light on to wither this was a viable project or not. My biggest thought is the fact that its designed to be a MR engine, and will this effect how it goes in my engine bay or how it is mounted? as i don't have the funds to go all out on dropping it on the back axle.

Thank you for any reply
Tom
