So i went to turn my engine on for the first time in months, normally my immobiliser light sort of randomly flashes, when i turn the key all the way it stays on and i can't turn it off now.

I have been able to turn it off before fine although it took a few attemtps sometimes, i just thought the battery was dying.
So i bought a new battery today and still nothing.

Am i gonna have to spend £70 to get a new fob? and if so where from and will it need to be connected up to my immobilser using special tools or what?

Is there anyway of working out what the problem is?

Whenever I disconnected my battery, the immobiliser had a spag when I re-connected it. I recall someone on here telling me to press unlock-lock 3 times to reset it. No idea if this will help!

hmm thanks for the advice i'll give it a go, although my buttons r pretty worn down so i dont know which one is unlock and which one is lock XD

I'll try both both combinations

point the narrow end away from you (keyring bit nearest towards you) and the left button is unlock and the right is lock. If you've got the same alarm as me...


EDIT This should be exactly the same design you have in a 96 sprite:

Cheers, can;t say that technique worked for me though

I literally haven't a clue about immobilsers, where is it on the car...maybe if i pointed my key directly at it it might work

Mine is behind the dash, above and to the left of the heater I think.

this happens to me every now and again i normally disconnect the battery leave it for a few mintes and then reconnect it then press lock 3 or 4 times then unlock and it normally works
