Replacing Fan Belt

I want to replace the fan belt as its one of many things i want to replace due to it wearing old :thumbsup:

I took one look at it and sighed heavily :)

it looks a real tricky and long task to do

i havent yet tried to do anything

Any tips would be appreciated?

Just to add im quite UN-experienced with doing engine work, but interior is were i shine and body work, so something like this to someone who knows the engine well may laugh but i want to learn

first things first, go out and buy yourself a haynes manual. to remoe the fan belt you need to remove the grill and loosen 3 nuts.

I used to have a haynes with my old mini but regretfully left it in the car when i privately sold it, oh well

i shall order one asap

The procedure isn't actually all that difficult, although I've never had to do it, so I couldn't be too sure on how to go about it, however it is explained in the Haynes manual.

I'm sure someone will be along soon enough to explain it, but if you are still stuck and don't have a Haynes manual, I have a PDF version that I can send to you :thumbsup:

Well i shall tackle it on the weekend, maybe with the helping hand of my granddad but he might be working on my other car

I have at least a spare part for everything on my mini

like has been said really get yourself a haynes manual im not very mechanically minded but got it done within 30mins following that with no problems you will be fine mate
