Only if you can bring it up in a happy world and have the means to support both it and your girlfriend.
Really only you will know when the time is right to have a baby!

Leave it a while have fun together and enjoy life! your only young theres plenty of time for kids later on in life. They are a huge commitment and you only realise the impact they have on your life when they are there (you cant shove em back!!) That being said i love my children more than life itself but im glad i waited until my late twentys.

I agree with tuktuk, you shouldn't need to ask others for their opinion if you feel ready...

Personally I would say wait, you are both very young and things change a hell of a lot even between the age of 18 to 21.

my neice is nearly one year old now, my brother is 22 and his girlfriend 19

he adores little kateyln, but i look at him and see how much he has had to give up to look after his child.

i know i couldnt do it but i often see my cousins kids and think ah arent they awesome and take them to the movies, bowling ect... but at the end of the day or the weekend i can give them back and get back to me again.

i think many young people misgudge what parenting involves. its not easy and youre life will never be yours again

Sorry to sound so ignorant but I don't know what you mean by recoiled. You have been together for a long time and obviously met when you were both very young, personally I would ask each other the question again in a few months time.

i've been with my girlfriend for four years, and i'm 19, and we wouldn't even think about having a baby yet! I've always thought having a baby in your teens in a bad idea. Even if you're financially capable, you youself have not fully matured to take on that kind of responsibility. i'd say 24-25 is the minimum age, if you have the funds to have one

It's basically all down to you guys - we can't decide whether your ready or not.

There is no rush to have kids (don't forget they'll be a drain on your Mini fund so make sure the Mini(s) are ready first ), maybe even get married and settle down - then you'll both know when the time is right.

You have the rest of your life to have kids. Live your life to the full while you are young.

things change a hell of a lot even between the age of 18 to 21.

I definitely second that!

You're still so young, there is absolutely no rush at all. As others have said, if you're both ready for a baby, you wouldn't have doubts and want to ask us.

My advice is definitely to wait things out until early 20's. My life flipped upside down with my now ex at the age of 19. Play it safe and good luck.

Leave it a few years and enjoy life together first. Do not take any quick decisions....children are for life....I have four and a grandson...love them all more than my Mini...lol. Seriously, take your time, there is no rush and you never want to be in the situation of " I could have done that if only I hadn't had the kids so early". Good luck to both of you.

I follow the opinions of others on here - you don't need to ask opinions of a forum as to what you and your partner should be doing.

You should do whatever feels right, bringing a child into the world is the single hardest thing you will do in your life.

That aside, I'm 21 and have an 18 month old girl who many on the forum have met. She is the best thing that's ever happened to me and I wouldn't have life any different now.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do...
