Just aquired a 93' k mini sprite 1275cc carbed. My mate has just recently changed an oil pipe the comes off the filter housing to a braided one as its quite common for stock one to leak some what and is has done by leaving an oil mist over engine and grill area.

Can i simply go at with some gunk then wash off with water etc? obviously being careful of electrics and that!

or is there a better way?

without lifting the engine, yes gunk is ok...

Not sure what you mean about the pipe leaking, this probably means it's been removed at some stage and not refitted with either annealing the copper washers or putting new ones in...

They don't normally leak...

Thanks will go easy with gunk and careful where it all goes and that!

Its the one in link below from mini spares, sounds like on this engine its a common problem, it wasnt leaking like dripping i dont think more spraying a mist everywhere! not cheap this one so hope it works and now goes better to hehe!

Thanks for replies guys i have a newish can of gunk so will try that first! would i be best of removing any components first or
just be careful around anything in particular? obvious ones being dizzy and coil etc or any switches in engine.
I have the later electronic dizzy to so see a little control box on side so be careful of that!

AutoSmart 'Tardis' or AutoGlym Engine & Machine Cleaner will get rid of the oil >_< Tardis is great for getting rid of tar spots and glue residue too.
