Just wondering what tools peeps have fabricated themselves to doing various jobs on their minis.

I made a quick spanner to lock the support pin in the rear subframe in place whilst tightening the nut on the end. Its simple enough but works a treat

made one of them but mine was an old 1/2 socket! proper handy with the old bolts being rusty always though! made flywheel pullers aswell from old tops from hydralic rams! given away now i have a genuine one! making a tool for putting in the bearings for rear radius arms like the one in the original seventies factory manual which ought to work a treat! we must all be mad working minis enough to warrant making tools! apart from guessworks who does it for a job! enigma

My spring compressor is a length of 14mm bar with a couple of nuts on it.

I need a 1/2" hub socket, torque wrench and a grease gun lol

What does tool for the bearings on a rear radius arm look like?

made a philps screw driver.. bent it at 90 degrees on the end so i can take the air filter off.. its really tight behind there.. but i can now get at it all

modified a spanner to fit ball joints, modified a couple of sockets to fit a different drive etc

not really anything mini specific, exept when youve got the subframe off you lose a few inches on the compressor tool, an extention peice for the trolley jack soon sorted that out


also scott, i used a stubby phillips, always does the trick

Locks the primary gear to undo the first motion shaft nut with the engine in situ.



Outer race puller for the transfer casing idler bearing. Only half shown



Modified old spanners to aid removal of cast alloy inlet manifolds.





To make adjusting tappets 100x easier. I end up adjusting them a fair bit for some reason

the old classic...made a compression tool.....after one I got from mini spares broke!!!
