Looking for new set of alloys, currently have a '92 cooper with sportspac fitted and sportspac alloys, but at least two of the alloys aren't running true causing serious woble/steering wheel shake!!! cant afford to replace them like for like, so considering alternatives. Ive got chance of a second hand set of minilite 6x13's and my question is, am i right in thinking these wont fill the arches the same as the sportspac, so will i need spacers? if so what depth? The other thought i have is a set of deep dish minilite 6x12's. your thoughts/comments appreciated thanks

I'll start this off with the back end. My pickup had 6x13 Ultralites under Sportspack arches and the spacers were 1". Our Cooper Sportspack by contrast has spacers of approx half an inch.
The pickup had no spacers on the front and I don't think the Cooper has either, but don't take that as gospel.

Before you go changing anything, get the wheels checked on a balance machine for trueness. Then check the hubs etc.

ive had the wheels balanced twice up to now. I had a local mini garage change the fronts for a pair they had it was a damn sight better! then put the rears on the front and the fronts on the back and it was just as bad!! so i recon the rims are shot!! I do have a guy lending me a set of 12's to try so may be abe to confirm after that!

Once you take off the 13's and fit 12's you'll probably want to keep the 12's as they are so much better to drive on in all conditions.
