Sorry I promise I have tried to search for this but I cannot find any information.

I am replacing the drivers side front floor panel and have found that the spreader panel, through which the subframe bolts to the car, is also rusted at the bottom.
Does anyone know if I can remove the panel with the subrame still in the car (i.e. just unbolt the subframe)? How is this panel attached to the floor?

I am hoping to cut out the rot, weld in the new floor panel and then seem weld a spreader plate into position and the drill the holes through both panels to attach the subframe again. Does this sound right?

Cheers Matt

If you mean these plates then yes, you could do it with the subframe still in the car.
