Well I wax oyled my car a few months back just before the winter, the rear arch seemed ok then. There was a bubble but nothing major. Yesterday my dad got me some emery cloth is it? from work, I started sanding the rear arch down on top (drivers side) as it was showing a lot of surface rust. When I poked at it a few weeks back it seeed ok.
Anyway like I said... yesterday I went out to the Mini, satrted messing and then this happened. I think they were filled before by the previous owner as my finger just went striaght through and a lot of white stuff was comming out between the underseal. It was comming out in big chucks. Dad said he would take a look for me tomorrow, I don't have the time or money to get a replacement arch at the moment but will have to in the future.
It will have to be a repair job for now just before it's mot I used some of this metal fillter on my sill when I wax oyled the car, it was really good stuff and I now have a rock hard sill. But then again, they will need changing soon probably ....
Here is two pictures of the arch, why does everything bad have to happen when you have no money?!

on a serious note that looks like a simple chop and weld situation, get the corect gauge steel, cut a nice square out, remove the effected area, and weld away, bobs your nan

Unless you don't have access to a welder.

Don't bodge it, do as above. Do you know anyone who can weld?

I always manage to put it in the wrong section ;) Sorry
I tthink I will do as above, thanks for the help ;) I think it's best to cut it out and put a new piece of metal in it. Will take it to dads work and get it welded. No point in filler really, it will only happen again. :w00t:
