ok so i am getting ready to take my car off the road, i have a standard ap clutch kit put in the car in the 1100 motor running now.its less than 10,000 miles old so i was going to change the friction plate and release bearing and away we go. . however the suppliers catologues arent clear as to whether this is sound, they list a post 1990 1275 friction plate. i am building a mildly tuned 1293 mg spec engine so not hot really wondering what people have run without the expense of these orange diaphragms and uprated friction plates? dont want to waste some of the fortune expended on the build to clutch slip! on the other hand not sure how heavy the clutch can be with uprated bits either,as its a daily driver aswell.any tips greatly appreciated.ta enigma

There are several different diaphragms - the 'orange' one used to be popular! But if your clutch parts are only 10k miles, and not contaminated with oil - they should be fine for the engine spec you suggest.
