Model: Sprite 1275
Year: 1993
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Had a problem with my headlights (sealed beams) in which one headlight worked and operated normally, but the other one only the sidelight worked. The bulb was fine, but to be 100% sure I bought a new set of Wipac Quadoptic Halogen headlights (I was going to buy these at some point anyway).

Installed them about an hour ago but the same sort of thing seems to be happening :thumbsup: One headlight works perfectly, the other doesnt;
When the sidelight is turned on, there is no problem - the sidelight lights up.
When the dipped beam is turned on, the sidelight dims and the headlight comes on but dimly also.
When the main beam is turned on, the sidelight and headlight dim even more

I know its a wiring issue, but I dont really know where to start! Have tried changing the big pink relay (dim dip relay?), but the same thing happened.

I'm supposed to be heading out into the countryside in an hour or so, so if anyone could help it would be most appreciated.

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

I would suggest checking and cleaning all the bullet connections under the slam panel. There will be a blue with white wire, blue with red, and black (earth). pull them apart, clean, vaseline and re join then test again please.

I think you're probably right. Most of the connections under the slam panel were pretty corroded, one of which is obviously the earth wire.

I'll try sorting this out tommorrow.

Thanks for your suggestions :thumbsup:

If you have nothing better to do, then a boring explanation would be good :)

Just noticed you can see the same thing happening on my sealed beams on my sig picture!
