Air Bubbles On Dipstick

Hello

I've just started up my 998 clubman (with 12G295 head, MG Metro cam, +40 flat top pistons, new bearings) and ran it for about 5 minutes. When I turned it off I checked the oil and noticed some tiny air bubbles on the dipstick. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I haven't overfilled/underfilled with oil.

were the bubbles fuel from a leaky fuel pump ?

Well think about it....

While the engine is running, even when stationary the gearbox is turning at what, 1000 rpm ....

Would you be surprised that the oil is just not sitting in the bottom of the sump, it's being thrown around by both the gears and sloshed back into the box by the oil pump at something like 6 gallons a minute..

Unless you've left the engine settle for a while there's every chance there's going to be bubbles in it

And there's little point in checking the oil just after it's stopped running as there's still quite a lot around the walls of the crankcase which needs time to drain back to the sump.

That does make sense, I'm a novice (this is my first build) so I'm terrified when something looks/smells/sounds odd! :)
I checked the oil and couldn't smell any petrol in it, which is a relief
