Hello Folks,
Been here before, planning and thinking complete - My Italian supercar build has started.
Fiat 126 , full spaceframe , Honda Blackbird (Rotrex Supercharger), Dry sumped, JE Pistons, Carillo Rods , bla bla bla....
Project started in anger this week, Inspired by the profuse of excellent BEC Minis I saw last year.

This is so awesome! Im currently building a Fiat 126 Pickup and i was thinking of making a sort of mr2 floorpan with welded in roll cage, which i later plan to put the fiat body ontop of, so i will be watching this closely and look forward to more updates

Had a look at the Retro website what are you using as a transferbox?

Been a while since my last post, Monster Mouse has been busy (Or rather Retropower have) with the car coming to shape now. It has had December off as we have been unable to get together due to the weather and discuss some reasonably important issues.
In answer to R1 Pete regarding the transfer box, we did initially opt for a Quaife chain drive atb, I bought one and have decided not to use it, this was based around the lack of chain length v bhp of the Rotrex Blackbird engine. It left us only 9" between centres...
So after a a brainstorming session at Retropower, and me whincing at the cost of Powertec axles, Nat suggested we look at a viscous coupling/silent chain transfer box. Various grasstrack companies are making gear driven boxes, but none with a diff or lsd option.
The guys at Retropower suggested a Borg Warner - Range Rover transfer box, so I have been loaned one on a long term basis to see if it will work.
It comes with lsd already, strong and reasonably priced when compared to £3500 + for the Elite/Powertec axles.
I have made contact with a guy elsewhere who is a Land Rover transmission specialist, and he has told me he can soften up the VC to make it more suitable to my car...
Heres a few pictures of where we are at..

The wheels are borrowed ones for effect - I understand they are Compomotive CXRs from a Caterham R400 -
13 x 8 rear , 13 x 6 front - Look canny so Im going to source a pair, and yes the car sits nice on the ground.
cheers
