1500 miles old, in a 1040 putting out 63bhp / 68ft lbs. Imagine the damage in a 1380 etc... The picture says a 1000 words;

might be just the pic, but to me it looks a bit too silver, as if its not been heat treated, should it normally be duller looking or greyish ??

When i punched it out, the punch left a dent in the end. And these are the worlds shitest punches

On another board I frequent this very problem was discussed. I can't remember which vendor is developing "good" layshafts... but it wasn't MiniSpares.

i belive JKD are selling good ones, available from them and minispeed (i think). I havent checked it out as i've taken the polocy of using good second hand ones from 998 a+ gearboxes.

I have heard that Minispares layshafts are actually no stronger than cheese!! I have seen a few threads on them actually, I think there was one on turbominis.
