My mini jumps outta second gear sometimes. Just wondering if this is a common fault and easily sorted??
Cheers

Yeah its a common fault, 2nd gear is the weakest gear in the box. To sort it you will either need to replace the gear or the whole box.

usually, weak synchro springs or the dog teeth on the gear being worn so they don't engage properly...

I once had a clubby estate that used to jump out of 4th gear when you got to about 50 - very inconvenient, didn't do it all the time. I've never had one jump out of 2nd.

Hi,
this is prob no help but...mine never jumps out of any gear...its because iv got a re-con gearbox, :w00t: very handy. i was lucky came wiv the knackered engine that i got with my mini. Its not that cheap really to get a re-con box, or im just continually skint!!
