Hi All,
I'd like to ask for your help on what these two are. The ZCars Mini Monte Carlo is a spaceframe with a GRP bodywork attached. As for the ZCars Mini, I thought it retained much of the original Mini, being it mostly a Mini with a relocated engine (with some tube custom rear frame jobbie added for that). A closer look tells me that's totally wrong, as this Mini is actually based on a ZCars full frame which forms the base for a rolling chassis where a Mini shell is then attached. This makes these two a lot more similar to each other to my eyes. What do you think? How similar are these two chassis? Is the shell / bodywork the only major difference? Many of these ZCars Minis get their windows replaced by polycarbonate or perspex anyway, and all their front by GRP (typically one piece). On the ZCars Mini, is the original shell stressed in any way (floor maybe?) or is it just unstressed bodywork like on the MMC? Can you turn a ZCars Mini into a MMC by replacing the bodywork? Thanks for any thoughts and comments (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Cheers, Alex |

the monte carlo may look like a mini but in truth its 5 inches longer in the wheel base it has a full spaceframe chassis from front to back has been FIA approved to race anywhere in the world and is our top spec product
the steel bodied mini is std wheel base and is our starting point for conversions its the cheapest way to do a car we now have a third option based around our race spec steel bodied kit it uses a std wheel base with a full roll cage and a bolted on front sub frame onto this we fit a fibreglass bodyshell its priced between the monte carlo and a steel car performance wise its in between the two as well if you need to see one either go to oulton park on bank holiday monday and see us racing or come to the workshops chris |

Nice one Chris, thank you so very much for a useful explanation from the man himself.
We'll see what friends think about going to Oulton park, we may well be there, thanks! Cheers, Alex |
