i want big wheels but i dont know what size you can get without cutting or messing with the engine!?! any one know? pics would b cool!

Anything bigger than 12" on a pre-sportspack (1996) Mini will require you to cut the front arches at the very least. Even some tyres on 12" rims will rub the arches if your suspension is a bit tired.

People have fitted 17's on Mini's with a lot of modification though so anything is possible.

If your Mini is the 998cc Racing Green in your profile then I would fit no bigger than 12" to be honest, anything bigger will just sap a lot of the 998's torque and will more than likely make it handle badly unless your suspension has been set-up correctly to compensate.

I had deep dish 12x6 wheels on mine with chunky tyres and about half an inch had to be cut from the wing to clear them when steering.

Now i've put 13x7s on and i had to cut like another inch off the wings.

To be honest, I think smaller wheels on a mini are far better. They look better and they certainly handle better. I have 13 x 7 on mine, but I'm going to down size them to 12's when I get some money. They also add a lot of stress to the car which isn't good. The black Cooper is mine with 13 x 7, but I prefer the 10 x 6's on the green one.

Yeah, when I first got my CE I wanted big wheels... I was hooked on 13x7s but now am in love with 10" wheels. I still think 13x7s look good but they take away the "small size" of a Mini. Plus, when you have the fat deep dish 10x6s on a lowered mini = tits
