I have a 1988 998 mini Jet Black.

The car seems to start fine, but when reving the engine the is a pause and it seems to stop firing for a fraction of second every few seconds. Had a similar problem before which was much more severe spluttering and constant stalling, which was the condensor.

She idles ok but inconsistently. Is it likely to be the same problem?

Bit of a newbie to the mini lifestyle so any help would be greatly welcomed.

Cheers in advance dudes

has thou replaced the HT Leads, rotary arm, dizzycap / other electronic bits up front, also check for corroded connections as these can cause misfires i believe! might also be worth getting a colour tune kit to make sure the mixture is spot on but im sure someone with some actual knowledge will tell you what it is soon...

Cheers for the advice guys.

Just wondering if it would make sense to upgrade to an electronic distributer system?

If so, is it expensive or particularly difficult to sort out?
