started project up and it ticks over ok once it has warmed up, the problem is that when i add power it back fires and revs drop. unleaded (do not know if head has been greened), new plugs ,leads,cap,rotor,hs4 carb with new (correct needle) new exhaust complete & manifold, tick over seems ok otherwise.

have you checked the timing and points gap?
