and i thought engine conversions were just something to think about for the distant future? your plans get more and more confusing by the day mate
+ insurance on a 1380 or engine conversion mini pushing that power is going to be a hell of a lot. £700 will be a fraction! + with that much power your most likely going to have to upgrade quite a few other parts on the mini, costing yet more money. it aint gonna be cheap whichever way you do it.

ahh is this correct
yes, bungle is right. Only an A-series or A+ engine with a transverse gearbox will fit without you having to weld, cut, chop, fabricate, spend, spend, spend, spend and spend.
Save the money, and wait.

only a mini engine will fit with no welding, moving or cutting
or with a school-boy / girl level of cutting and installation you could got the R1 route...................alex has proved this
in all fairness you'll need to save a few more quid.

You won't get much for £700.......................would'nt even buy 70bhp............
my recent R1 engine including sequential six speed box and all ancillaries cost £700.00.
admittedly all the bits to facilitate the conversion cost another chunk-o-salary, but once you're there, replacement engines do seem rather cheap for 160BHP.
just keep an eye on your temperature and oil levels - like I didn't.
