I have been trying to get on to Ebay all morning at 7.30 this morning it all worked great at 8.30 it went dead anyone have this problem? or is it me.

just spoken to a mate he has the same problem and he says the vw sites in the US are out as well.
whats pinging

pull up a command window ( cmd )

and type

ping ebay.com

you should get something like this...

Pinging ebay.com [66.135.221.11] with 32 bytes of data:

the ping request will probably timeout as they have a block to prevent pings, but the important thing is that it comes back with the IP address of ebay.com

if it does not then it's not ebay but your DNS which is at fault...

Do a google for public DNS servers and change your network settings to point to one of them instead of using the default DNS provided by your ISP..

It maybe that the ISP's DNS server has a fault and is not resolving the domain.

I tried goîng over google and over other links and they all failed.
I was on the phone to a mate about something on Ebay he failed to get in as well, as if by a stroke the side opened and it works most strange. thanks for telling me how to ping
