I will use this thread if I ever get my intended project underway, might be a while as Im skint! I will also post things done to my current mini but I wont be changing too much on it.

Hey I finally stuck some nurburgring stickers on. I have also now taken off the large numbers!

I probably will not be using my car everyday soon so I shall be able to get things done to it. Starting with suspension.

-----------------------------------

Ideas: stage 3 1380 engine, sw5i cam, 1.5 tip rockers, W&P throttle body, mappable ecu, nitrous or a supercharger, ice install. Any ideas/feedback/suggestions/abuse welcome!

I think ill end up with a project car for use on the track, but I would like something like the marcos kit.. we shall see. Keep changing my mind at the moment. I will have more wedge soon to start buying parts.

---------------------------
This blue sticker was really expensive at 12 euros, and was bought in the shop near the nurburgring museum (F1 circuit). T-shirts and things in there were about the same price as the petrol garage though. Well they had a lot of Michael Schumacher jackets!

This sticker cost about 4 euros or something and they can be bought in the petrol station near the track.

I imagine its supported by a jack so he could remove the clutch cover and o/s engine mount, so it'll be canted over at an angle...

dead right. engine got to come out now.

The camshaft didnt break when the engine was running, so the block is fine

wondered why the engine wouldnt turn......
Its quite a mystery, but these things happen.
Anything else i should consider while all this works being done? (Im not bloody doing it)

I am all MOT'd TAX'd and CAM'd.

In the end, under recommendation from Mr Swift himself, a Kent 274i camshaft has been fitted as this should be better suited to the Spi apprently.

I just took it for a very quick drive and it seems great to me. But it is dark, wet, and I had the complete wrong shoes on. I also havent driven for about 4 months so I think I will give it a proper go on saturday afternoon. I also want to stick the grill back on and give it a good clean!

But I am happy. £500 bill which I think is very reasonable.

Yeah hes knows his stuff alright. Even was bringing my car back for me and things as I was at work. I think next will be the shocks and hi-lows as the body roll is something else on this beast

--------------------------------------------

Update: after going in stigs mini think I will try the supercharged route, but this would be sometime next year I imagine. Well I hope.

First is new set of wheels and suspensions hopefulyl sorted by christmas.....

Thought I would give an update

Not really had time to do much over winter, but I did fit a KAD quickshift at the end of last year. Works great - didnt take too long to get used to!

Currently off the road as my exhaust needs repairing - hopefully the bracket will get welded on this week. I also having battery problems but that may be the alternator so I will probably have to order one if the battery is ok after charging.

Once this is done OLAF should fly through his MOT! (we hope)

I will let you know how I get on............
