Floor looks repairable but clean it all up and see how big the hole really is.
Wires by the grille look more like the usual headlight/side light/indictor connectors from up under the slam panel - do al the lights work correctly? What colour are the wires?
Wires by the gear stick are from the reverse sensor in the selector box, they should join to some wires towards the dash to turn on your reverse lights.

They could be for the reverse light switch but theres also a possibility that they are for a Starter Inhibitor Switch and the car was Once Automatic
If they are joined with connectors disconnect them briefly
if the car wont start it was once Automatic
if it does start select reverse if the reverse lights wont come on they are probably the reverse light wires
I have a sneaking suspicion it was one Auto though, early autos had the starter inhibitor on the back of the gear selector not too far from where those wires are

A far as im aware all my electrics work fine, including reverse lights, they werent connected to anything and the car starts perfectly (now ive put new plugs, leads, rotar arm and dizzy cap on it!) Should i be concerned that the gearbox has been changed, anything I should be looking for?
Anyways I got the new brakes in today so he now not only starts but stops too! also put my Gaz adjustables in too! The old ones looked about 100 years old, leaking all over the show!

Kitroxin you have a pm about that front end
