Thought I'd just share my progress. The MPi is a 2000 plate model with 60k on the clock, and the gearbox was already shot. So whilst I had the engine out to fix that I got a bit carried away. Took the whole lump up to Mini Speed who rebuilt it (left the pistons as they were as they and the barrels are in perfect nick) with a new 'box, 3.2 ratio cross pinned diff, new cam, heated treated crank, 1.5 rockers, Stage 3 head, and cleaned and painted everything. Slotted straight back into the car in about half and hour, and now cleaned and where necessary painted or polished all the old brackets and other ancilliaries, hopefully have her fired up by the end of the week.
Thanks for those who gave advice on the specs.

The bass bin/shelf insert should arrive from Optimise next week, so the nice new ICE should in a week later, can't wait to finally give it a proper drive!! Roll on Summer!!Attached File  IMG_0014.JPG   115.18K   19 downloads

Mmm :) just the job. Must persuade Mrs T to let Rocky the Cooper Sportspack have a similar op.
*sigh*
After all the other expenses ....
