Std clutch master cylinder

Asking for help again people. Second time in as many days, you can tell I'm putting things back together now !

I successfully rebuilt my brake master cylinder last night and now I'm onto the clutch.

I have a new seal kit from Moss but seem to have a spare bit.....or have I?

When I dismantled the unit, there was nothing that came close to the white plastic part I have in the kit.

The only place I can see it fits is in the end of the spring

Is this correct? Do I need it? No mention in the Haynes manual.

Anyone have any experience or help.

Thanks in advance

Steve

If you're replacing the seals becuase they were leaking or just as part of maintenance on your mini, I'm sure you dont need it. If the cylinder worked ok before it should work ok without it again.

Thanks for the response.

I'm replacing the seals throughout the car as part of the rebuild not because I'm aware of any problem.

A search took me to an American site where someone had asked the same question. It was suggested that the plastic part fits in a similar way to my second photo.

As you have suggested, if it wasn't in there before, it probably won't be missed

Thanks again.
