Hi all, ive recently bought a 1998 mini cooper which has been modified by a previous owner. It has 13" minilite wheels and flared arches. Unfortunately when i reverse turn or forward turn tightly there is a very odd creaking/cracking noise coming from the wheels!
Im not a mechanic and as the car is still under warranty i need help to know if this is a common/expensive problem. Or if i should just send it back to the mini dealer and tell them to fix it??
Any help would be much appretiated!

you might not be able to take it back if it was 'sold as seen'.

It is probably just the tyre rubbing on the arches, which is very common with 13inch wheels.

Turn the wheels to full lock, get out, and see how close it is to the wing, there should be plenty of clearence, if not, it most likly is your problem.

Instead of getting out of the car, sit in it and get someone else to check (or vice versus), as the extra weight of the driver may make a difference.
