Hi all ive got a 1989 mini mayfair with standard alloys on and want to put some wide looking wheels how easy is this going to be?
Have been looking at some 6x12 revolutions and the web page says "Body Mods Required" what sort of mods are we talking about as i don't really want to mess with the origionality too much Thanks.

Mines just being re-sprayed at the moment and when i get it back i don,t really want to mess with it too much so what are the widest biggest wheels i can get away with without modifying it?

12 by 4.5 / 12 by 5 ,any more your going to have to start hacking away at your front arches, not want you want on a freshly painted body!

13s are worse, standard mini wheels are 12 by 4.5,some alloys are 12 by 5.0 ,if you go any wider than this you will need to modify your bodywork, standard sportspack alloys were made with a 13 inch diameter and a 6 inch width, most mini alloys e.g superlight, minilight e.t.c with a 13 inch diameter will have a minium of 7 inch width going up to 8 inch width for some ( like revolutions e.t.c )

How about if i had 5x12s on the front so they dont scrub on the sarches and 6x12s on the back so they still give that fat look?

once we had cut the arches so the wheel would turn we hamerited it and then put the grp6 arch's on. and its sound. you dont see the cut on the original arch at all..

I have 12x6 Minisport split-rims, but am looking to change. Are these the 'Big Deep' Revos, or the standard dish?
cheers -HRZ-
