So sorry to hear your health has taken a turn for the worst. I'd try and keep it but agree if you cannot drive it maybe moving it on is for the best. Regards, Steve

thanks mate, its so disheartening having a car that i just can't drive and it seems a shame for it to be tucked away when i built it to be used.

has the minispares discount stopped, it doesn't seem to come off my order automatically anymore?

Lucas if you look it is applied at point unlike earlier where you got a revised order with the discount then added. It caught me out first time.

debating selling the mini to fund other half's new house building project.

so who else has a 1100 engine and has overbored it? i've got a 1220 that i'm building and just trying to get a gauge on what i might be able to expect from it.

I took one out to 60 thou, ran a 285 rally spec cam in it, 12G295 head and a LCB - made about 65HP on the rollers, was one of my fav A series builds ever.

looking at fitting a better alternator that i can use on both my 998 and new 1220 engine. Whats the race type alternator like on road cars is it worth the cost?

-
Earwax
What is better.... more amps? For me the race type alternator is not required on a road car. in a Race car - low amps drawn, large pulley to reduce output, low weight and hopefully rugged but essentially doesn't get a lot of work. In a Road car- more miles, more output required ( lights sound ), no need for weight saving. The price on the competition types is not really justifying it for road use. Just my opinion

does anyone have a converted van that they use to transport their mini around...looking at converting one but not sure what to get..suggestions from guys who have one greatly appreciated

-
Avtovaz
escargot you could have the ramps down while driving it?? hmm!
Enclosed trailer can be the brian james ones for example, or could be a converted caravan chassis that you make a frame work for yourself... Plus also, you only have to tax and insure the tow car...

the issue in the uk is that you have to have an old timers license to tow a car trailer legally I've got a hgv license so a big lorry isn't an issue just getting to where i need to take it down a tight lane is

Just used gurgle, and it seems that the opposite is the case.
If you passed your car driving test on or after 1 January 1997 you can: drive a car or van up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass ( MAM ) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM. tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined MAM of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg.
