Car still in the shop, so I'm browsing Huddersfield Spares for new wheels. I wonder if I could get sportpack arches to look good with 12x6's...

Found and fixed my Mini issue all by myself. Dope mechanic had blocked up the overflow pipe from the float chamber. In the states we have "British car specialists" who actually really suck. But that's the price you pay for having a car that's really unique. Can't tell you how many times people see my steering wheel on the right hand side and say "Is that even legal?"

After all this engine work I feel like the engine is underpowered and fails to change gears properly. Did they put the wrong oil in?

Poor compression found in my cylinders. Estimated $1500 to fix. Ug.

Chuck a tipple of oil down the bores and run the compression test again, if its the same result it means its top end...headgasket probably, possibly a valve issue.

Thanks for the tip, Sam! They replaced the head, charged me $1275.00 - shops that deal with these cars in the states charge about $140/hr in labor. But on my way home from the shop (about a 20 mile drive) it started bucking and sputtering, and stalled out just before I got home. I got it started again, but could not accelerate or else it would rumble and die again, so I was able to get it home at about 10mph, stalling in the middle of every intersection after coming to a stop....
